This regime has gotten away with since the hostage crisis. It’s been barring Baha’is from enterring universities and has killed hundreds in national prisons, it just held a public hanging/execution of two guys who didn’t even murder anyone and they themselves weren’t part of any religious minority group.
6feetunder asked:
No theocracy has been as harsh as Iran’s government, so aside from it being theocratic, why does Iran hate each and every person who is not a cleric?

chom_sky asked:
In Iran people can elect their president and legislators freely and every woman can run as a candidate for presidency, if she has necessary qualities. But in some Arabic countries women can not even vote, and west says: “We are worried about Human Rights in Iran”!????
Is Iran more democratic or these Arabic countries?
So I think they are not worried about Human Rights. They are worried about something else that I do not know what is.
G.B asked:
Iran says it will report the crackdown of the British government on student protesters to the United Nations’ Human Rights Council.
The secretary of the Human Rights Headquarters at Iran’s Judiciary, Mohammad-Javad Larijani, said the council’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is an appropriate mechanism as a basis for an assessment of the British government’s human rights record in the context of the British police brutality during the protests.
The battering of student marchers by the police in London demonstrations has put the British government and the police under growing pressure as reports were released of students being sent to hospitals with brain injury, forcefully pushed off their wheelchair or at least hospitalized for minor injuries.
The UPR is a unique process, which involves a review of the human rights records of all 192 UN Member States once every four years.
The UPR is a process, under the auspices of the Human Rights Council, and will have the human rights records of all countries reviewed by 2011.
