Would you say what is in that video is the moral equivalent to water boarding? Be intellectually honest. And PLEASE, think about it.
That’s the point Freeman… there are NONE.

Will gay rights activists stand against Iran? (just a side question)

Freeman

what human rights?

Edit: The fact that you are comparing the way Iranians treat prisoners is completely irrational and hypocritical as opposed to what we did with “torture.”

Iran is a country that is expendable and a waste of space on the world map. Let them destroy themselves. As you can see, we don’t need much intervention.

Me? President? Never! Einstein

Lots of them, forced conscription, abuse in school, eye for an eye, capital punishment, child soldiers, lots and lots of them.

Who cares? It isn’t morally right in any way….what does that have to do with the US violating our own moral high ground, our own rule of law, and our own international treaties?

As, REPUBLICAN and VETERAN, Lindsay Graham said: the rules we set up speak more about us than it does the enemy. The enemy has no rules. They don’t give people trials, they summarily execute them and they’re brutal, inhuman creatures. But when we capture one of them, what we do is about us, not about them.

Compared to what most Islamic countries do to their citizens, especially females, waterboarding is nothing but a sunday walk in the park. Too bad the Neolibs and their talking heads, like Alan Colmes, are incapable of making that distinction.

Everyone knows Iran government is nothing but a bunch of shitheads.

just because others commit crimes against humanity does not give “you” the right to commit crimes against humanity

Um, did I miss something here? I don’t recall anyone ever saying that Iran was a shining beacon on human rights. And as is right, when you look at the heinous and barbarous things in videos like that, it taints your view of ALL Iranians. Just like water-boarding would taint ALL views about Americans. Just because it is done, doesn’t mean it is the right thing to do. It is far harder to “do the right thing”, than it is to do the “easy thing”. Torture is easy, if you have the stomach for it.

And why would gay rights activists stand against Iran? The women of Iran can’t even make their voices heard, and they have been trying for almost 100 years.

This is the kind of life the Mullahs want to spread worldwide, and we are letting them into our country.

Bob

Everyone is against Iran. Iran is not a suitable standard to compare ourselves to, now is it?

Tom

What is in that video is horrendous and shows what real torture is. What we have done is nothing by comparison. We did what we had to do to save lives and save lives it did. It is so sad the Iranian people have to live under such conditions. They are suffering so.

The left in this country are idiots not realizing how good we treat our prisoners and only do such things as making them very uncomfortable in order to save lives. The left doesn’t care if it only costs American lives. They think we should treat the prisoners like kings.
